Rock N Rolla
0
Now I have been a fan on Guy Richie movies since someone introduced me to “Lock Stock and Two Smokin Barrels” almost ten years ago, so I am no stranger to his work. I missed “Revolver” when that came out, and knew that “Rock N Rolla” was out but couldn’t make it to that one either. However once they both made it to DVD i knew i had to see them. Since Rock N Rolla was the most recent i went for that one first, and i am glad i did.
As per usual with his films, there are several story lines all runing on their own, usually to crash into each other by the end. There are the usual twists and turns in the plot, nothing that you can’t already see coming from almost the start, but it doesn’t matter, it’s an action movie, after all. Guy’s very stylized visuals and great use of camera work are present and accounted for in his latest picture. I would even go out on a limb and say that they have gotten better over the last several movies he has done.
I won’t go into who is in this movie, aside from saying that Jason Statham is NOT in this one but Gerard Butler (300′s King Leonidas) is part of the cast. Everyone appears on screen to have a genuine amount of chemistry between actors. Again with most of his movies there is a lot of humor (mostly dark) injected into almost every scene. I don’t know where the ideas come from but i am still amazed at how well all the loose ends get sewn up by the end of the film.
If you like a little comedy with your action, and aren’t afraid of thick accents from European actors, i would definitely suggest renting with the option of buying this one. One small gripe, there was a severe lack of cockney in this movie. I love the stuff, i guess cause i can’t speak it myself. Not once did i have to turn on the subtitles to figure out what an actor/actress was saying. Oh well.
New Final Fantasy XIII Trailer
0Here is where I come out and say that Yes, I am a Fanboy. A Final Fantasy Fanboy to be exact. I have owned almost EVERY release of the title. I have in my collection titles from the original Gameboy, NES, SNES, PSOne, PS2, and iPod. I also have many many Final Fantasy Soundtracks for almost every release. I love all things Final Fantasy. It is the one title that I have to be honest and admit my Fanboy status.
Today the countdown counter for the newest Final Fantasy XIII trailer hit zero. Embedded above is that trailer. Yes it looks amazing, but what did you expect from SquareEnix. Everything looks to be in game, and the battle system and graphics even make an appearance at around the 1:40 mark. Thus begins the utterly long wait for at LEAST another year for the games release here in North America. At least that gives me a year to decide which console I want to buy the game for. I am leaning towards PS3 simply because I know it won’t destroy my console and send it into a “RROD”.
Anyway, just thought I would share the video with the rest of the world if you haven’t already seen it. Consider me impressed, as well as DEpressed. Ugh! 2010 can’t get here fast enough now.

The first one looked amazing on the Original Xbox, this one is shaping up to look even better on the 360. Another game to watch out for in the coming months/years.
